Liability and Service Disclaimer
Effective Date: August 7, 2026
This Liability and Service Disclaimer applies to all mobile and in-shop services provided by Car Spa Detailing.
By booking or authorizing a service, the customer confirms that they own the vehicle or have permission from the vehicle owner to authorize the requested work.
## 1. Pre-Existing Vehicle Condition
Car Spa Detailing is not responsible for pre-existing damage or deterioration, including:
* Scratches, dents, chips, rust, or paint defects* Faded, peeling, oxidized, or previously repaired paint* Cracked, loose, worn, or damaged trim* Loose badges, decals, wraps, or protective film* Cracked or chipped glass* Worn, torn, stained, or deteriorated upholstery* Loose headliners, carpets, panels, buttons, or controls* Electrical, mechanical, water-leak, or sensor problems* Damage caused by previous repairs, detailing, or modifications
Cleaning or restoration may reveal damage that was previously concealed by dirt, stains, oxidation, wax, fillers, or other materials.
We may photograph or record the vehicle before, during, and after service to document its condition and the work performed.
## 2. Fragile or Damaged Components
Customers must inform us before service about fragile materials, loose components, aftermarket accessories, electrical issues, recent repairs, repainted surfaces, or any other condition requiring special care.
Car Spa Detailing is not responsible for the failure of a component that was already loose, damaged, improperly installed, significantly worn, or near the end of its service life, except where the failure was directly caused by our negligence.
We may refuse or stop work on an area if continuing could reasonably cause damage.
## 3. Personal Belongings
Customers must remove money, valuables, important documents, medications, electronics, weapons, and personal belongings before service.
Car Spa Detailing is not responsible for items left unsecured, concealed, or undisclosed inside the vehicle, except where loss or damage is caused by our negligence.
Gloveboxes, consoles, trunks, storage compartments, and areas containing personal belongings may not be cleaned unless they are emptied and made accessible.
## 4. Stains, Odours, Pet Hair and Contamination
We do not guarantee complete removal of every stain, odour, pet hair, biological contaminant, chemical residue, mould condition, or other contamination.
Some conditions may be permanent or may return due to contamination beneath carpets, seats, insulation, ventilation systems, or other inaccessible areas.
Aggressive treatment of delicate or deteriorated materials may cause discolouration, texture changes, fading, or further damage. We will use professional judgment and may limit treatment where the risk of damage is unreasonable.
## 5. Paint Correction and Polishing
Paint correction and polishing involve removing a controlled amount of clear coat to improve the vehicle’s appearance.
Results depend on paint thickness, previous repairs, paint condition, defect depth, and vehicle history. Some scratches, chips, etching, oxidation, and other defects may be too deep to remove safely.
Car Spa Detailing may leave certain defects partially visible rather than risk damaging or compromising the paint.
The customer must disclose repainted panels, body repairs, touch-up paint, thin paint, or previous polishing when known.
## 6. Ceramic Coatings, Paint Protection Film and Other Protection
The durability and performance of ceramic coatings, paint protection film, sealants, and other protective products depend on:
* Surface condition and preparation* Environmental exposure* Vehicle storage* Washing methods* Maintenance* Mileage and driving conditions* Compliance with aftercare instructions
No coating or film makes a vehicle resistant to all scratches, chips, staining, corrosion, or environmental damage.
Manufacturer warranties, where available, are subject to the manufacturer’s separate requirements and exclusions.
## 7. Paintless Dent Repair and Touch-Up Work
Paintless dent repair and touch-up results depend on the dent’s location, depth, size, metal condition, paint condition, and previous repairs.
A perfect or invisible repair cannot always be guaranteed. Touch-up paint may remain visible at close range and may not perfectly match aged or faded factory paint.
Additional damage discovered during the repair may require body-shop or mechanical work outside the scope of our services.
## 8. Mobile Service Location
For mobile services, the customer must provide:
* Safe and lawful access to the vehicle* Adequate working space* Permission to perform the work at the location* Required access to electricity, water, or a suitable indoor space* A location free from unsafe people, animals, traffic, ice, hazardous materials, or other unreasonable risks
The customer is responsible for obtaining permission from the property owner, landlord, condominium association, workplace, or parking management where required.
Car Spa Detailing may stop or reschedule service if the location or conditions are unsafe or unsuitable.
## 9. Vehicle Operation and Keys
The customer authorizes Car Spa Detailing personnel to access, start, reposition, or briefly operate the vehicle when reasonably necessary to perform the service or move it safely within the service location.
We will not use the vehicle for unrelated purposes.
## 10. Cancellation and Rescheduling
Customers must provide at least 24 hours’ notice to cancel or reschedule an appointment.
A cancellation fee of CAD $40 may apply to appointments cancelled or rescheduled with less than 24 hours’ notice, as well as missed appointments.
Customers with repeated late cancellations or missed appointments may be required to pay a deposit before a future booking is confirmed.
## 11. Service Results
We aim to provide professional-quality results, but no detailing or cosmetic restoration service can return every vehicle to new condition.
Results depend on the vehicle’s age, materials, condition, previous maintenance, repairs, and the severity of the defects.
Statements regarding expected results are professional estimates and not guarantees unless a specific written warranty is provided.
## 12. Inspection and Reporting Concerns
Customers should inspect the vehicle when the service is completed.
Any concern regarding possible service-related damage or incomplete work should be reported as soon as reasonably possible, preferably within 24 hours, with photographs or other supporting information.
Car Spa Detailing must be given a reasonable opportunity to inspect and, where appropriate, correct the concern before the customer arranges repairs or corrective work through another provider.
## 13. Limitation of Liability
Car Spa Detailing is responsible for direct physical damage to the vehicle or customer property only where the damage is proven to have been caused by our negligence or intentional misconduct.
To the extent permitted by law, Car Spa Detailing is not responsible for:
